Coromandel from Coast to Coast

Visit the unspoilt Coromandel Peninsular, with this 1 day tour to Coromandel, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach.
Travel south from Auckland to Thames and along the picturesque Pohutukawa coast. Arriving in Coromandel village we will visit Driving Creek Railway, pottery and wild life sanctuary. Option here to ride the narrow guage railway through regenerating native bush and enjoy gorgeous views from the Eyeful Tower.
Lunch in Coromandel township and then on to Whitianga. Catch the local ferry across the harbour, visit Flaxmill Bay and Shakespeare Cliff. On down to Cathedral Cove (walk is 35 minutes each way), Hot Water Beach (tide permitting we can dig in the sand and relax in the hot water). Afterwards travel through magnificent native forests, see the twin Kauri trees and enjoy a Hokey Pokey ice cream at Tairua as we settle in for our 2 hour journey back to Auckland.

Waitomo Glowworm Caves

An easy 2.5 hours journey from Auckland are the magical Waitomo glowworm caves. Visitors have been coming from all over the world to see the magic of the caves since the 1887. Leave Auckland following the mighty Waikato River through spectacular farming country. We pass through small villages and pass by Turangawaewae, the home of the Maori King.
We stop for coffee and enjoy the surrounding nature, river and morning tea.
Arriving at Waitomo village discover the beauty of the world famous caves and glowworms as we descend into the depths of the caves and take a boat ride through the grotto. Learn the history and spiritual significance of the area.
Option to visit Otorohanga Kiwiana Town and the Kiwi House to see native birds and trees.
Other options also include a short bush walk, visit the Marokopa waterfall and walk under a natural bridge formed by a collapsed cave . Visit the historic Waitomo Hotel in Waitomo village. Lunch in a local town is a great chance to enjoy kiwi kai.
Time allowing a stop at the beautiful Hamilton Gardens is a peaceful and beautiful stop as we journey back to Auckland.

Hobbiton Movie Set Tour

Depart Auckland. A two and a half hour drive through beautiful landscape will see us arrive at the Shire's Rest. As we travel through the countryside you will understand exactly why Sir Peter Jackson selected this location for the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit trilogies.
We join a 2 hour tour which takes you out onto a private farm to enjoy the Hobbiton Movie Set experience. After walking around more than 40 Hobbit houses, dancing under the Party Tree and taking thousands of photos you will have a chance to relax at the Green Dragon and enjoy a complimentary drink.
HIghlights include Bag End and Bilbo's house, step inside a Hobbit house, see where Sam and Rosy got married, hear stories of Gandalf, learn the secret movie tricks used, enjoy a nature walk to the Green Dragon passing over the double arched bridge beside the Water Mill. Even if you haven't seen the movies or read the books, the charm of Hobbiton will create its magic and you will be enthralled.
After the tour we travel on for lunch before heading back to Auckland and continuing with sightseeing around Auckland city. We will view the city from one of the many volcanoes, drive along the harbour and see the inner city sights.
Or you have the option to visit the world famous Hamilton International Gardens in New Zealand's 4th largest city before continuing on to Auckland.
